Who should check EDGE before committing

When the quote is ready but the contract is not.

This is for the owner, finance lead or operations lead deciding whether to approve a supplier appointment, start internal work or wait for EDGE. We first check the proposed work, expected start date and whether your business has already committed to it.

Projects that remove repeated work

For a proposed automation or digital tool where staff re-enter data, chase approvals or produce the same documents repeatedly.

A scope, budget or standards plan

For a supplier scope, internal project brief or standards plan that needs an EDGE activity check before work starts or payment is made.

Market-entry work

For proposed overseas promotion, business development or market-entry work that previously sat within MRA.

A quotation not yet accepted

For a supplier quotation with no signed agreement or payment. EDGE is reimbursed after completion, and the application must be made before signing or paying.

What to send first. Send a one-paragraph project summary, planned start date, supplier quotation or internal cost estimate, whether anything is signed or paid, headcount and local shareholding. We reply within one working day, then arrange a short call or site visit where useful before sending a written scope and quote.

EDGE project check and application preparation

Check the route before the project starts.

EDGE is open. EDG, PSG and MRA closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. We first establish the project timing and current commitment status, then check the relevant Business Grants Portal terms before helping you prepare the application and supporting documents.

  1. 01Send the project pack

You send a project summary, proposed work, supplier quotation or cost estimate, start date, headcount, local shareholding and whether you have signed or paid anything.

  2. 02Choose the EDGE activity

We match the proposed work to the current EDGE activity and confirm the application route in the Business Grants Portal.

  3. 03Check the activity terms

EDGE applications are assessed by the activity you want to carry out. We check the published activity-level rate, requirements and documents for the proposed work.

  4. 04Prepare the project record

We prepare the draft scope, stated business outcome, milestones, cost breakdown and route-specific document checklist from your project brief and quotation or cost estimate. Your team confirms the facts, wording and figures before portal submission.

  5. 05Submit before commitment

Your team submits the application through the Business Grants Portal before signing or paying. After approval and project completion, support is claimed through the required process.

What an EDGE project check produces

Your route note, project scope and document checklist.

The final requirements depend on the activity listed on the Business Grants Portal. Before you commit, you receive a written timing and commitment check, project scope, milestones, cost basis and document checklist. Your team makes the business decisions, approves the wording, submits the portal declarations and keeps the project records.

  • A written timing and commitment check against current EDGE rules
  • A project scope that names the proposed work, business outcome and selected activity
  • A milestones and start-date schedule matched to the supplier quotation or internal cost estimate
  • A company-information checklist for the applicable support-rate check
  • A route-specific list of quotations, cost details and supporting information to gather
  • A draft project narrative and cost justification for your team to review
  • A pre-submission checklist for the Business Grants Portal before signing or payment
  • A claim-record checklist for the approved project after completion

Cost for EDGE application support

Quoted after we see the project.

Quoted per
project

  • Draft project narrative, cost justification and document checklist for your approval

Enterprise Singapore assesses the application and the claim. Support is not confirmed until the relevant approval process is complete.

The dates that decide your route

EDGE is open. Apply before the project starts.

EDG, PSG and MRA closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. EDGE is open. The grant is reimbursed after completion and you must apply before starting work, signing, paying or placing a deposit.

What helps the check move

  • A short project description and planned start date
  • A supplier proposal or a clear internal cost estimate
  • Confirmation that no agreement is signed and no payment has been made
  • Company headcount and local shareholding available for the initial rate check

What can add time

  • A project scope that is still changing
  • An agreement or payment that needs careful timing review
  • Activity requirements that need to be checked against the live Business Grants Portal list
  • Supporting documents or cost details that are not ready for the selected route

The published dates and support limits are current as checked on 30 September 2026. Activity-level eligibility and rates must be checked against the Business Grants Portal when the application is prepared.

Before you submit an EDGE application

The details that can change the route.

A grant is not a reason to rush a project decision. We check the business need, timing and published requirements so you know what needs to be true before your team commits the work.

01

The project is not already committed

The application must be made before an agreement is signed or payment is made. We ask this at the start because it affects whether grant support can still be considered.

02

The application uses the current scheme

EDGE is open. EDG, PSG and MRA closed to new applications on 29 September 2026, so we check the proposed work against the applicable EDGE activity.

03

The activity matches the proposed work

EDGE assesses the activity you want to carry out. We compare your project scope with the live Business Grants Portal activity list, rather than assuming every digital, standards or growth project qualifies.

04

Your company details support the SME rate

SMEs get up to 50% for most activities, including digital, and 70% for sustainability and overseas work. Your business must be registered and operating in Singapore with at least 30% local ownership. The activity can add requirements.

05

The support cap is understood

The overall cap is S$100,000 per company per year, refreshed on 1 April. Within it, S$30,000 is for single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and selected automation activities.

    EDGE grant questions

The answers to check before you commit.

Short answers for Singapore business owners. For a wider view of current support schemes, read the SME grants guide.

    What is the EDGE grant?

EDGE is an Enterprise Singapore grant that is open now. It replaced EDG, PSG and MRA, which closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. You apply by the activity you want to carry out.

When did EDGE replace EDG, PSG and MRA?

EDGE is open. EDG, PSG and MRA closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. Ongoing EDG, PSG and MRA projects continue and claims can still be submitted on completion.

How much support can EDGE provide?

Support depends on the activity. Most activities support up to 50% for SMEs and 30% for non-SMEs. Sustainability and internationalisation support up to 70% and 50%. The cap is S$100,000 per company per year, refreshed on 1 April. Within it, S$30,000 is for single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and selected automation activities.

    Who can apply for EDGE?

Your business must be registered and operating in Singapore, have at least 30% local ownership, and meet the requirements for the selected activity. A company must not have received an earlier grant for the same standard. Enterprise Singapore assesses each application.

Can my automation, ISO or market-expansion project get EDGE support?

Possibly. EDGE is open. Its Automation & Digitalisation activities support up to 50% for SMEs. Single-function Digital Solutions need an IMDA pre-approved vendor. A one-task custom build does not qualify on its own, but a business-wide project can go under Large-scale Digital Transformation. It also has Standards and Internationalisation activities. Support depends on the selected activity and its requirements. We check the current entry against your exact project before you commit, and Enterprise Singapore decides the application.

Which ISO standards does EDGE support?

EDGE supports ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 at up to 70% for SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs. It supports ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22000 and ISO 41001 at up to 50% for SMEs and 30% for non-SMEs. ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and bizSAFE are not supported under EDGE.

What Standards costs does EDGE support?

For a supported Standards activity, professional service costs and first-year certification and testing costs are supported. The certification body must be SAC-accredited or recognised under the IAF, ILAC or APAC MRA. Surveillance and renewal audits after the first year, GST and software are not supported.

Does ZES meet the Standards vendor requirement?

Yes. The Standards vendor must hold SS 680:2021 certification as a Singapore Certified Management Consultant. Nachi holds PSCMC certification, valid to 15 September 2029. Enterprise Singapore assesses each application. ZES is not an IMDA pre-approved digital vendor.

What must I do before starting the project?

Apply before you start work, sign an agreement, make a payment or place a deposit. EDGE support is reimbursed after completion. Send the proposed work, start date, supplier proposal if available, and whether anything has been signed or paid. We tell you what to check before the project is committed.

How much work does my team need to do?

Your team needs to explain the business outcome, confirm the project scope and timing, provide company and cost information, review the application details, make portal declarations and keep the project records required for the claim. We prepare the project case and supporting documents with you, then guide the submission process.

    Can ZES promise EDGE funding?

No. Enterprise Singapore assesses the application, and the applicable activity terms and documents must be satisfied. ZES helps you check eligibility, prepare the project scope, proposal and supporting documents, and guide the portal submission and claim process. We do not promise an approval outcome.
