EDGE lists ISO 14001 as a Sustainability standard

EDGE opened on 30 September 2026. It covers eight business areas and more than 150 activities. Standards is one of those areas, and ISO 14001 is under Sustainability standards.

EDGE support for ISO 14001 is up to 70% for an eligible SME and up to 50% for an eligible non-SME. Support received counts towards your business's S$100,000 annual grant cap. The cap refreshes on 1 April each year.

EDG, MRA and PSG closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. Projects already under those programmes can continue, and claims can still be submitted when those projects are complete.

ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and bizSAFE are not supported under EDGE. ISO 50001 is listed at up to 70% for SMEs. ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22000 and ISO 41001 are listed at up to 50% for SMEs.

If your customer, tender or group head office requires environmental certification, our ISO 14001 certification service can be scoped against that requirement and the EDGE activity.

Tip: The grant changes eligible costs. It does not change who assesses the application or who issues the certificate. Enterprise Singapore assesses the grant application. An accredited certification body audits and certifies your business.

EDGE support is limited to stated project costs

EDGE can support professional service costs for the consultant. It can also support certification and testing costs from a conformity assessment body accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council, or by an internationally recognised accreditation body under IAF MRA, ILAC MRA or APAC MRA.

Surveillance and renewal certification and testing costs after the first year are not supported. GST and software are not supported. Support is paid on a reimbursement basis after the activity is complete and fully paid.

ISO implementation with ZES starts from $2,288. Certification body audit fees are separate. Your final fee depends on your company size, nature of operations and the scope of work required.

Send us the sites and activities within your proposed scope. We will identify the consultant and certification body costs that need to be separated in the grant file and written quote.

Eligibility is decided before the project starts

Your business must be registered and operating in Singapore. At least 30% of its ultimate individual ownership must be held by Singaporeans or Singapore PRs. Your business must not have received support for the same standard, regardless of version.

No work can start before the application is submitted. No payment or deposit can be made to a supplier, vendor or third party before submission. Costs incurred from the application date can be covered if the application is approved.

Your company submits the application through the Business Grants Portal with its Corppass. A third party cannot apply on your company's behalf. Enterprise Singapore gives an application outcome in 10 weeks.

The application file contains supplier and business projections

  • ZES's proposal, quotation and SS 680 certification.
  • The certification body's quotation and accreditation details.
  • A one-year projection of expected revenue growth after project completion.
  • A one-year projection of new jobs created, overall and for Singaporeans, with gross monthly salary above $5,000.

Nachi Leong holds the Professional Singapore Certified Management Consultant certification from TÜV SÜD under SS 680:2021. ZES meets the SS 680 vendor requirement for this activity. The EDGE grant guide for Singapore businesses explains the wider programme.

Before your company submits the application, send us the customer, tender or group requirement, your proposed ISO 14001 scope, your sites and activities, and the company size. We will reply within one working day, confirm the records needed for the quote, then arrange a short call or site visit before giving you a written quote.

The application, project and claim follow a set order

The application comes before the certification project. Most SMEs are certified in 2 to 4 months with ZES. An approved EDGE project must be completed within 12 months from the approval date.

  1. Application before project work

Your company submits through the Business Grants Portal before we start work and before any supplier payment or deposit. The application includes the ZES and certification body documents, plus the required revenue and jobs projections.

  2. ISO 14001 certification project

We carry out a gap review against the agreed scope, sites, activities and existing records. We then prepare the context review, environmental aspects register, compliance obligations register and operating controls. We support the internal audit and management review before an accredited certification body carries out the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.

  3. Completion and claim

Within 12 months of approval, the activity is completed and fully paid. The claim follows completion. The deliverables are the capability and benefits report, training records and the accredited certificate.

The 10-week application outcome is separate from the certification audit. Enterprise Singapore assesses the application. The accredited certification body assesses the management system at Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Send ZES the requirement that triggered the project and the sites it covers. We will use those facts to set the scope, prepare the supplier records and plan the project after the application is submitted.

The certification records are built for ISO 14001:2026

ISO 14001:2026 was published on 15 April 2026. It replaces the 2015 edition with a three-year transition. A new certification is done to the 2026 edition. The ISO 14001:2026 transition guide explains the edition change.

The scope and context record cover clause 4.1. The environmental aspects register addresses clause 6.1.2. The compliance obligations register addresses clause 6.1.3. We use your stated sites, activities and scope to set these records for the project.

Clause 8.1 covers operational planning and control. Clause 9.1.2 covers evaluation of compliance. Clause 9.2 covers the internal audit. Clause 9.3 covers management review. The project deliverables also include training records and a report on capability built and benefits realised for the claim.

ISO 14001 implementation with ZES joins these project records to the certification body schedule. We prepare the system with your team and prepare the claim deliverables alongside it.

The first discussion sets the grant file and certification scope

A customer request, tender condition or group requirement can define what you need the certificate to cover. We need the wording of that requirement, your company size, nature of operations, proposed ISO 14001 scope, sites and activities. These details let us distinguish the implementation scope from the certification body's Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit quotation.

We use the information to prepare the ZES proposal, quotation and SS 680 certification for the application. We also identify the certification body quotation and accreditation details that your company needs to include. Your team submits the application with its Corppass.

Tip: A supplier payment or deposit before submission makes the business ineligible for this EDGE activity. Keep the application submission before the project starts.

Send those details to ZES. We will reply within one working day, arrange a short call or site visit, then provide a written quote that separates the ZES work and certification body audit fees. After your application is submitted, we begin the agreed certification project with your team.
